Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how GPT Translate ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to this policy.
Information We Collect
- Text you enter for translation — Sent securely to our translation service (Cloudflare Worker) and processed by OpenAI to provide translations. We do not permanently store your text on our servers.
- Voice input (optional) — If you use speech-to-text, audio is processed on your device using Apple/Google speech recognition to convert speech to text before translation.
- Translation history — Stored locally on your device only (language pair, source text, translation result, and timestamp). You can delete individual items in the App.
- App settings — Language preferences, theme, and favorites are stored locally on your device.
- Advertising data — Google AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and usage data to show ads. See Google's Privacy Policy. On iOS, you may be asked for permission to track across apps (App Tracking Transparency).
How We Use Information
- To provide translation services
- To save your recent translations on your device
- To display advertisements that support the free App
- To improve stability and performance
Third-Party Services
Data Retention
Translation history is kept on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. Our servers do not retain translation text after the request is completed.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We use HTTPS for all network communication. No login or account is required.
Your Choices
- Delete translation history in the App
- Decline microphone or tracking permissions in device Settings
- Manage ad consent via Ad privacy settings in the App drawer (where available)
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
